I am recently working in British computer society as an IT manager. My basic role in the organization is to look after the IT department, monitor the development and maintenance of the IT projects and plans, communicate and coordinate among the IT department and the other areas, allocate the IT resources such as equipments, services, funds, personnel, etc (Benson.et.al, 2014). The particular task is been concerned with the identification of the skills and knowledge required by an individual and make use of the same in its professional areas.

A). Set of own current skills and competencies

In order to identify the current skills and competencies the skill audit matrix would depict the skills specifically and would assist in associating them against the professional standards and the nature of organizational objectives. Being an IT professional I required having wide range of skills and competencies so that to sustain in the organization and meet the desired levels of organizational objectives along with the professional standards. With respect to the IT professional standards are been classified within 8 different disciplines of their professions (Zakarevičius and Župerkienė, 2015). It is very much important to evaluate my business skills in order to identify the gap between the current and the expected developments and bring improvements accordingly. The basic objectives of the British computer society are as follows:

With the help of skills audit, I have seen that it is very important for me to improve the skills like communication, project management, planning, etc. as per the professional standards and meet the desired levels of outcome (Moon, 2013). It has been found that the IT role could be justified with the improvements in the specific skills and capabilities meet fulfill the professional standards effectively.

B) Personal and professional development plan

Personal and professional plan is been mainly concerned as a formal medium through which people or an individual decides it objective, strategy and results out of their learning either from the training or from personal experiences. With the help of skill evaluation I have found some of the qualities which require to be developed to some levels. With respect to the evaluation of skills and knowledge it is very much important that they must be improved with the time and make better use of them for the achievement of desired organizational objectives (Bates.et.al, 2016). It has been found that in order to bring required improvements it is important to evaluate own strengths and weaknesses so that to come up with the detailed information about the areas to be improved. However, motivation, interpersonal skills and in-depth knowledge are some of my strengths which prove to be beneficial for me to develop any IT project or make the subordinates work upon it. These skills also help in carrying out other operation at the workplace effectively. On the other hand, I lack in communication, time management, planning and is also confined with the technical knowledge. Along with this, I lack in confidence in quick decision making and thus require guidance over some of the expertise from the higher levels. In addition to this, the personal and professional development plan I would be able to attain an idea regarding the areas to be improved with the set time frame (Pedler.et.al, 2013). Thus the personal and professional development plan is as follows:
